FED: Desert adventurer to be released from hospital today
Stranded US adventurer ROBERT BOGUCKI is expected to be released from Broome Hospital today
after recovering from his six-week ordeal in the Great Sandy Desert.
The Alaskan fireman -- who set out to cross the desert on July 11 -- is also expected to
meet today with the US rescue team involved in the search before it leaves Broome.
Kimberley Health Services general manager ERN HULBERT says Mr BOGUCKI lost 27 kilograms in
the desert and had been requesting corn chips, chocolate, cheese, Gatorade and ice cream.
He has apologised for sparking the massive search operation and Western Australian Police
have backed away from threats to charge him the $35,000 they spent finding him.
Mr HULBERT says Mr BOGUCKI is expected to remain in Broome until the end of the week.
